Thanks to our focus on social and emotional learning, integrated with and supporting academic learning, children come to understand who they
are
, what they’re interested in, and how they learn best.

With faculty mentoring at every step, students develop self-awareness, self-assurance, and self-respect. From plentiful public speaking, they build confidence. From considerable responsibility, they cultivate executive functioning, agency, and trustworthiness. By learning about the world, they envision their place in it.

Rooted in Rhythm

Every Friday, our community gathers for a cherished tradition that begins with Settling In in the historic Meeting House before moving to the Great Room for all-school singing and dancing. Students from preschool through eighth grade, along with faculty and staff, join in cultural folk and line dances from around the world, followed by student-selected songs from our PFS Music Binders. These shared rhythms and melodies spark joy, nurture belonging, and strengthen our connections across ages and experiences.
